The IATP access site conducted the three-hour training on the Internet basics for teachers of informatics from the rural schools of the region. The participants learned about basic principles of digital networks building and the Internet protocols and visited specialized resources.

Local ECA alumni gathered in the IATP access site to celebrate the US Independence Day. Within the frameworks of the event the IATP Chernivtsi Representative Ivan Bodnaryuk conducted a presentation of new IATP services – Miracle hosting system and Distance Learning System. After the seminar ECA alumni communicated online with Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer of the US Embassy in Ukraine Scott Urbom.

The IATP access site in Chernivtsi hosted a seminar on the Internet resources for the English teachers held by PIE alumna Svitlana Kurysh. The objective of the training was to complete the yearly qualification course for local English teachers, and to equip them with basic Internet skills. The participants visited the Internet resources on studying English, and learned about new programs and methods of teaching.


17.05.2004

The IATP access site in Chernivtsi hosted five JFDP alumni for the meeting with ACCELS representatives from Washington, US. The aim of the event was encouraging Ukrainian and American JFDP alumni to establish connections, and to exchange ideas on the educational system in Ukraine. The participants discussed impact of ECA exchange programs on the education in Ukraine. They reviewed the work of the IATP access site for the local community, met with administration of Chernivtsi National University.


01.05.2004

The IATP access site in cooperation with “American Club” Cultural Center and Peace Corps volunteers organized presentation of the International Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Young entrepreneurs, ECA alumni, journalists participated in the event. The Chamber representatives introduced the audience to the activities of their organization consisted of 6000 branches throughout the world and united people from 18 to 40 years old.

The IATP access site started conducting training on basics of the information technologies for the local NGO representatives. At the training the participants will master computer and Internet skills. Special attention will be paid to computer application in business correspondence and usage of the information technologies for more effective work of the local NGOs.


24.01.2004

TEA alumni attended trainings on computer basics. They learned to work with computer and different applications. The trainings were conducted in cooperation with Lviv branch of the American Councils. Finalists and Semifinalists of the TEA exchange program for their excellence in teaching English are awarded with computers for their schools. But not all of them have knowledge and skills on computer technologies. The vast majority of the TEA alumni from Chernivtsi have already overcome the problem due to the trainings of the local IATP access site.

ECA alumni working in the educational sphere gathered in the IATP access site to meet with Assistant of the Educational and Cultural Affairs Officer of the US Embassy in Ukraine natalia Yeremeyeva. At the meeting the participants shared their achievement and plans for the future. Natalia Yeremeyeva answered questions on the Embassy programs for educators, and on publishing materials in the “Visnyk” magazine.

The IATP access site hosted a seminar entitled “Internet for Studding German” for the students of the Department of Foreign Languages, members of the Club of German Literature, teacher of the Department, and representative of German service of academic exchanges DAAD Stefani Stegmann. The participants mastered basic Internet skills. Then they focused on the features of the German websites interfaces. The participants learned about main computer terms of German, and rules of their usage. They visited the websites on German language and culture. Halyna Gikova, participant of the event, mentioned, “Internet is world network, but every country has its national features on the Internet, so we can speak about “national web”.”
