21.12.2004

The IATP access site in Mykolaiv and active ECA alumni Iryna Lysenko (FLEX 04) and Dmytro Say (FLEX 02) held the final part of the charity Christmas action for the local orphans and disabled children. During the previous month the initiators of the action raised funds for the Christmas performance and presents for the orphans and disabled children. They also involved students of three local universities, Mykolaiv Branch of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Mykolaiv State University, and Mykolaiv Academy of Culture, to this action. The action participants congratulated pupils of several local orphanages and boarding schools, including local boarding school #3 for mentally handicapped children, by performing Christmas show and presenting sweets, toys, and books to the children.

Users of the IATP access site in Mykolaiv Dmytro Say (FLEX 00) and Iryna Lysenko (FLEX 03) visited local specialized school for the mentally-handicapped children. ECA alumni are going to create a paper for encouraging local students to help in organizing charity events for these children. The IATP access site in Mykolaiv will support this project.


29.10.2004

The IATP access site organized a seminar, entitled Principles and Tools of Fundraising, for six ECA alumni. The participants learned about fundraising basics and decided to create ECA Alumni Club. Olena Malytska (FLEX 04) led the seminar.

The IATP access site participated in the Internet video conference within the frameworks of Election Process Online project.


20.09.2004

The IATP access site hosted its youngest users. Sasha Yerofeyeva, nine years old, and her friend Ira Rumiantseva, ten years old, worked with e-mail and Internet. Sasha told that she had learned to use Internet due to her grandmother.


14.09.2004

The IATP access site hosted training on computer basics for pupils of the specialized school for the deaf children. Natalia Mykhaylova, who previously attended the IATP trainings, led this training. The participants learned to search for the information on the Internet, worked with search systems, and visited specialized web resources.


13.08.2004

The IATP access site in Mykolaiv organized a seminar for newly arrived FLEX alumni. The IATP Mykolaiv Representative Anton Sverkunov introduced the audience to the activities of the IATP access site in Mykolaiv, described its services, and emphasized the IATP work with ECA alumni. Newcomers were very interested in the IATP facilities for ECA alumni, in particular in dial-up access providing by the IATP access sites throughout Ukraine for ECA alumni and NGOs.

The IATP access site conducted mobile training, entitled the Proxy Server Installation with WinGate Application, in Yalta. The IATP mobile trainer Oleksandr Simonov led this training


24.06.2004

The IATP access site participated in the presentation of the new services of Renaissance Foundation in Kherson. During the presentation the IATP Mykolaiv Representative Anton Sverkunov introduced the audience to the IATP activities in Ukraine.


23.06.2004

The IATP access site hosted presentation of the Internet portal of Renaissance Foundation. ECA alumni, journalists, and local NGO representatives participated in the event. They learned about the possibilities of the portal, terms of subscription for the news posting.


02.06.2004

The IATP access site in Mykolaiv hosted representatives of Veselka Charity Children Fund for the countrywide Internet conference with UNICEF representative. The participants discussed cooperation between Ukrainian NGOs dealing with children’s rights, UNICEF programs for the Ukrainian NGOs.


27.05.2004

The IATP access site opened the exhibition of works of the local artist Anatoliy Vichehanin. Anatoliy is attending the IATP training on web design to create the website with his works.


21.05.2004

The IATP access site conducted training on publishing websites on the Internet for the winners and participants of the Oblast Web Design Contest for Schoolchildren. Due to this training the participants published their first websites on the Internet.
